Save the Planet
"I pledge allegiance to the Earth, and to all the Life that it supports -- one planet,irreplaceable..." Yep, I care enough to be personally conscientious in as many ways as possible. I've facilitated a campaign to get a major wind-farm project going locally. I'm fairly fanatical about the 3 R's: Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle. I've taken the "No bottled water" pledge of the Food and Water Watch. I try to select foods with the "Diet for a small planet" in mind (though I'm not a total vegetarian). I believe strongly in the "Live Simply so that Others Can Simply Live" philosophy, and (forgive all the cliches!) I try to "put my money where my mouth is" by giving as wisely, generously, and thoughtfully as I am able to causes ranging from global to local needs and from political to physical involvement in environmental causes of many types. As a hiker and backpacker, as vice-president of the Keystone Trails Association and a life-member of the Sierra Club and president of my local trail club, I spend as much time as possible in the outdoors and do a lot of volunteer work on trail-building and maintenance. I think "Green-Passions" connotes a liberal political and social viewpoint supported by personal concern that affects daily choices, recreational pursuits, and community involvement. If you share "Green-Passions," I anticipate that you are smart, educated, active, fit, energetic, and "outdoorsy." Probably you would share my love for camping, hiking, and visiting state and national parks. If those interests describe you, and you are a person of character and commitment, perhaps we could share some adventures and Happy Trails. Yeah really -- We should enjoy life even as we do our little bit to save the planet!
